Our story
Roseville’s Next Chapter
Fifteen years ago
Every story starts somewhere. Ours started in a garden.
Fifteen years ago, my dad moved to Guyra — a place I had barely heard of, let alone imagined calling home.
At the time, I was living in Sydney with two young children and couldn’t quite work out how a place six hours away was ever going to become part of our everyday lives.
And then I visited.
There was something about Roseville from the very beginning. Beneath the overgrown gardens were glimpses of what had once been here — forgotten fountains, formal garden beds, pebbled pathways and old roses that had somehow survived it all.
Dad, being Dad and a passionate gardener, set about bringing it back to life.
Over the next fifteen years, he planted over 250 peony, David Austin and other roses, flowering cherries and pears, thousands of daffodils and irises, restored the gardens, nurtured a 154-tree orchard of apricots, apples, nectarines and cherries and slowly uncovered the character of this beautiful old property.
Roseville became more than a garden project. It became a place our family gathered, worked, celebrated and made memories.
And now, after all those years, Roseville is entering its next chapter.
Jaime and I have come home to be part of that chapter — looking after the gardens, restoring the farmhouse, figuring out country life and discovering what Roseville might become next.
Under Guyra Skies is our way of sharing that story.
The gardens. The old farmhouse. The renovations, the animals, the seasons, the beautiful chaos of country life — and, in time, the people who will come here to create stories of their own.
Because we don’t want Roseville to simply be a place where people hold an event.
We want it to be a place where something memorable happens.
Stories. Gardens. Gatherings.
Welcome to Roseville.

Now it’s our turn
From Sydney to Guyra
In 2026, after years of Sydney life, Jaime and I packed up and moved to Roseville.
It wasn’t quite the plan we had imagined years ago. But sometimes life has a funny way of showing you where you’re meant to be.
We came back to Guyra to spend more time with my parents, to look after Roseville and its gardens, and to begin restoring the old 1890s farmhouse that has been such a big part of our family story.
I’ve spent much of my working life in business and, for many years, ran a gardening and landscaping business in Sydney with Dad. So perhaps I should have known what I was getting myself into.
Jaime has an impressive ability to look at almost anything — a fountain, a fence, a broken gate or something neither of us can quite identify — and say, “I’ll have a look at it.”
Toast the Groodle has appointed himself Head of Security, while Hamish and Fergus, our Highland cows, have taken on the very important roles of Heads of PR.
We’re still figuring plenty of it out.
There are gardens to care for, rooms to restore, seasons to learn and a whole new way of life to settle into.
But that’s what Under Guyra Skies is really about — sharing the next chapter of Roseville as it unfolds.
And opening the gates so other people can create a few stories of their own.

The farmhouse
An 1890s farmhouse, one room at a time
The original farmhouse has been lovingly renovated — a new country kitchen, restored rooms and French doors opening onto the garden — while keeping the character that makes it Roseville.
Suzy has documented every step, from the dead rat behind the kitchen wall to the Highland cows stepping off the truck, in her journal.
